An outbreak of African swine fever has been recorded and claimed over 3,000 pigs in Northwestern province.

According to Zambia's immediate notification to the OIE, submitted 12 Dec 2007, the ASF outbreak had started on 1 Nov 2007.

Two follow-up reports have been submitted later, the last one on started on 10 Jan 2008.
