Without pigs, the streets of Cairo are full of trash
EGYPT - After the massive culling out of pigs in May 2009, people of Cairo face a major garbage problem
The zabaleen, a community of Egyptian Christians in Cairo, used to collect the trash, sold the recyclables and fed the organic waste to their pigs. But, since May 2009 and the massive culling of pigs decided by Egyptian authorities to prevent the spread of "swine flu", organic wastes are not collected any more.
