This platform results from strong demands from the African countries, draws lessons from recent experiences ("livestock evolution") and takes into consideration rational livestock development perspectives (“livestock Revolution”).

More specifically, the partnership intends to improve livestock sector contribution by:

i) increasing participation of beneficiaries, collaboration between donors and partners, and also ensuring the durability of regional and local institutions,

ii) improving knowledge of the sector and strategies & action plans formulation, both at the national and regional level,

iii) promoting collaboration / regional integration, knowledge sharing, sub-regional training and strengthening of capacity building,

iv) inserting these results in current or future operational programs, initiated by ALive partners.
