During 2005, seven Asian and European partners gather to build a diagnostic GIS to promote a sustainable pig production development in Thai Binh province
Thai Binh province is an overpopulated rural province in the Red River Delta, 150 km far from Hanoi in Northern Vietnam. The pig production's intensification is one of the main challenges for the economical development in this agricultural province.
To support the local pig production’s development programme considering the environmental protection issue, the E3P project will assess the surpluses of animal wastes, the needs for nutrients by crops and fish ponds, and it will design a Geographical Information System (GIS) as an evolutive and effective diagnostic tool in order to define the more reliable manure management and technologies’ options.
